Is That Plateau Caused By Mindset or Discipline Issues?

Training does get tricky sometimes, doesn’t it?
Especially when all you want is to get results that last.

And so you train, train (and you train), but…

Nothing seems to be working.
You only find yourself stuck in a plateau.

Could it be because you lack the discipline?

Why High Achievers Still Feel Like They’re Behind

Imagine the 5-year old you….
First day of school

When start they make you sit down all day to learn some things. 

And YOU have to be good at that OR at the end of the year, 
get embarrassed because your marks are not good enough.

Not many places in that school ask

Would you like to do something different?
Are there other things you like doing? 
Maybe you feel like playing right now.

Are you enjoying this? 

You go ALL the way through school studying hard

Because every few months? 
They test you

And at the end of the year, 
they test you

You're competing against all the other kids. 

You’ve got to study hard and get good marks every time 
to at least pass, If not top the class.

(Though topping the class and maintaining your spot 
must be the standard for being called an achiever).

You spend ALL this time ratcheting and ratcheting yourself up. 

So by the time you get to be an adult? 

ALL you’ve been trained to do is work.

You think about:

I need to get better
I need to be successful

I’m going to be measured.
I need to stay on top of my game.
I will be compared.
Am I good enough?

What if I don’t meet the standards?
Then that means I’m not good enough,

If I fail?
That’s the end

You, me, we have all been trained like that.
All or nothing.

But..

All or nothing gets you all or nothing.

Still, however, these high-achieving parts of us are amazing – 
They helped us get to where we are now.

But now as an adult, there are a lot of other areas in your life 
you need to give airtime as well.

You also have to spend time with the people you love…

Do the things that serve parts of you 
that need freedom and rest and tender loving care.

The hardest work is knowing when to take a break.

How and Where to Find Your Deepest Self-Worth

We don’t rely on a pair of socks for the human race to exist.

We rely on each other.

Talking Versus Being - How Chelsey Demonstrates Strength To Her Daughter

Today’s transformation story features our kick-arse SMP client @c.parko.

A mum of a toddler,
And a businesswoman…

Our girl, Chelsey, is the epitome of personal mastery.

Navigating a fat loss phase, then rebuilding calories back up. 

Gaining strength and muscle throughout the process.

And doing it all while her daughter watches.

There’s what you say. 
There’s what you say repeatedly.
There’s what you do.
There’s what you do repeatedly.

And the best way is to demonstrate through your actions.

For yourself, 
but also for the people around you.

This is her nailing her squat with her little one in her home gym:

“Silent cursing and internal screaming when I have my workout buddy with me.

"Because she repeats EVERYTHING and has already slipped the f bomb a few times 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

"In all seriousness, I want to raise her knowing the gym is hard work, and fun and being strong is amazing.

"She already goes around lifting stuff and exhaling saying “Mama I’m working out.”

"Raising one strong little lady over here - watch out world. Also, her mama is kind of a badass too.

Slower Is Faster; Here's Why

Imagine this:

Two people. Two ladders. One on the left and the other on the right.

The one on the left has 55 more ladder rungs than the right (as you can see in the picture above). 

More rungs = more steps
Fewer rungs = fewer steps

“If I chose the ladder with lesser rungs, it would only take me ten steps to get to the top,” said Person 1.

So she chose the ladder on the right.

Person 2, on the other hand, pondered:

“The other end seems too far and overwhelming to reach. BUT if I can take at least five steps a day, it would be easier! I can definitely start my first step right now!”

And so she chose the ladder on the left.

Day 1: 

Person 1 took her first quantum leap, and now she was a meter farther than Person 2.

Person 2 took her first small step confidently and then followed another step. And then another. Slow progress, she knew, but she enjoyed each moment.

Fast forward to Day 10:

Person 1 was already 3 km ahead! She did that with just three bold, laborious leaps. But the problem was: she had already used up all her strength and energy. One more desperate move; she’d fall.

How about Person 2?

Person 2 had now taken 50 steps since day 1! Each day she only took at least 5, so she could have time to rest, but she did that consistently – every day.

So who do you think gets to the top first?
Who wins the race? 🙂

This is why slower is faster.

What seems to be slow progress (and steady action) is more likely to bring you success.

And that’s what the Sports Model Project is all about.
