This Is Why Goals Restrict Your Happiness
High-achieving girls, who you can say are already big-time successful, come to me asking for help.
They have been in the fitness industry for years, have been into several shows, earned a place, and have successful businesses.
(I used to be one of these girls.)
But if you ask them if they are happy?
Some of them would say, “yes” some would say “no”
But most of them would not feel energetic and vibrant.
They don’t feel like they’re living their vision for themselves.
And perhaps, if you had what these girls have, you’d feel gratified (by) now.
But in my experience — you would still feel unfulfilled.
(I won the world championship and somehow still managed to feel like I lost)
So how come they are still not happy and vibrant?
Why do high achievers constantly feel like they are not satisfied?
Probably because they still have a long list of goals to pursue?
A part of them that says they still have to DO more? To prove more?
And what about you, why shouldn’t you be happy with where you are right now?
Is it because you are still here? Training hard?
Here’s the thing:
Goals restrict your happiness.
We tend to cage our happiness in a goal and let that goal hold us accountable.
So long as you haven’t unlocked that goal yet, it will turn out as if you’re yet not allowed to be happy.
And no, it’s not the same as delayed gratification.
Happiness is something you can have right now.
How?
You fall in love with the process.
You are here for the journey.
Because when you do?
Every day can be an exciting learning experience for you.
When you see your system is working, you feel satisfied.
So does that mean goals, after all, are useless?
Of course not.
Goals let you win the game.
They’re there to let you know your target.
But if you want lifetime refinement and continuous development?
Your commitment to your process will take you to lifelong success.
So to help you out, my team and I are running a webinar on this exact topic — to help guide you through the new year’s goal resolution phase and help you set yourself up for not just success, but also to find joy in the process.
