Have you ever heard Einstein's definition of insanity?
It goes something like this:
Doing the same thing over and over again
and expecting different results
… is the definition of insanity.
It's pretty easy to get stuck in a rut. And when you're stuck in a rut, it can be tough to see your way out.
So you dig in
You train harder.
You rest less.
You up the intensity.
But nothing changes.
So you dig in
You train harder.
You rest less.
You up the intensity.
But nothing changes.
So you…
You get the picture.
When you see it written out like this, it’s pretty obvious where you fall into the pattern, right?
There is a way out.
And it starts with taking a step back
and looking at the situation from a different perspective.
One of the best ways to do this is to ask yourself some tough questions. Questions that will help you think about the situation in a different way.
Here are some examples:
- What are my goals?
- What is my timeline?
- Who would be the best people to help me achieve this?
- What is the worst thing that could happen?
