This Is The Downside Of High Standards

I had a bad day yesterday,
So I ate poorly.

I felt sad already,
But then I felt guilty.

And then I felt defeated and deflated.

I promised myself last time that I wouldn’t do this again.

But here I am.

AGAIN.

Doing the same old thing.

I want to unlearn bad behaviour.

And I want to feel like me again.

The me that does everything perfectly.
The me that sticks to the plan and doesn’t ever break.

The me that…

… never experiences human emotions 
or has a life outside of being perfect with everything?

Sometimes, the standards that we put on ourselves are crazy.

When you’re in this cycle, 
you genuinely think that the only way for you
to feel good is to do everything perfectly.

Always, forever.

And that’s a problem that we need to grapple with.
Because your life will always have it’s ups and downs.
