To do LESS.
And I know - this probably sounds counterintuitive, let me explain.
So many of us get to where we are by being extremely driven. We're the ones that are always putting the extra work in, constantly pushing ourselves to be 1 step ahead. We're always the first one there and the last one to leave.
And that's worked for us so we keep doing it. We push ourselves incredibly hard and we don't stop because stopping feels like quitting.
But little do we know, that's actually hurting us more than stopping!!
The truth is, we're not machines.
We need time to relax and recharge.
We need time to let our minds and bodies rest so that we can come back even stronger.
If we don't, eventually we'll hit a wall.
We'll get sick, we'll get injured, we'll get tired and we'll make mistakes.
So if you're someone who is constantly pushing themselves,
I want you to take a step back and think about this -
What would happen if you took a break? What if you gave yourself permission to relax and recharge?
I'll tell you first what WOULDN'T happen...
You would NOT lose all your progress.
You wouldn't lose motivation.
And, the world would not come crashing down around you.
You would actually progress faster, because your body has time to recover.
You would open yourself up to a world where exercise is enjoyable - a celebration of what your body can do rather than a punishment for what it can't.
This balance is hard though.
